Defender L663 Gloss Black Roof Light Pod Kit

A gloss black roof light pod kit for the Land Rover Defender L663, mounted to the front of the roof. It needs no drilling into the roof and no changes to the dashboard, because the base frame is bonded on and the switch is a wireless remote. Forge Automotive supplies the kit and carries out the fitting at our Darwen and Leeds sites.

Good to know

• Hunters Prestige note that anything added to the exterior affects aerodynamics, and that some wind noise may be noticed at higher speeds with the light pod fitted.

The base frame is attached to the roof with a high-bond automotive adhesive and the wiring runs down the A-pillar beside the windscreen into the engine bay. Hunters Prestige publish a fitting guide, shown below.

Common questions

Does the roof need drilling?
No. The base frame is attached to the roof with a high-bond automotive adhesive, and the wiring runs down the A-pillar into the engine bay.

How are the lights switched on?
With a wireless remote switch, which can be kept to hand or fixed to the vehicle interior with 3M tape.

What warranty does it come with?
Hunters Prestige cover their parts with a standard 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects, from the date of purchase. Hunters Prestige also state that lighting accessories do not affect or void the manufacturer warranty, provided they are installed correctly and do not interfere with original vehicle systems.

Can I fit this light pod kit myself, or do you fit it?
Either. Hunters Prestige publish a how-to-fit video, embedded on this page, if you want to do it yourself. If not, we fit this light pod kit at both of our sites: Darwen in the North West (Eccleshill Business Park, BB3 0GY) and Gildersome, Leeds (Overland Park, LS27 7FE).
