Common questions

What is Alcantara and how do I look after it?
Alcantara is a synthetic microfibre with a suede-like surface, used by BMW on M steering wheels and interiors because it is grippy in the hand and does not get slippery when warm. It needs light care: brush it regularly, clean with a dedicated Alcantara cleaner rather than leather products, and avoid oils from hands building up, which flatten the nap.

How do I look after a carbon fibre part?
Treat the lacquer like paint: wash with pH-neutral shampoo, avoid harsh solvents, and wax or seal it. UV is what ages carbon, so a protected finish lasts longer. Forge Automotive can apply paint protection film to any carbon part before fitting, which guards against stone chips and keeps the weave clear.

Which options do I pick?
Select whether the car has a heated steering wheel and whether it has Active Cruise Control. The trim is made to that layout.

Does the trim add a heated wheel?
No. The heating option only matches the trim to a wheel that already has it.

Does it fit iDrive 8 cars?
Yes. FORM state it fits iDrive 7 and iDrive 8 M Sport wheels.
